  • Chase Mortgage Process Review

My story differs from most of those here; I have never been late on a payment or required loan modification. As two senior citizens with guaranteed incomes and 800 FICO scores, we thought getting a mortgage through chase would be convenient since we bank with them. We are in the metro Atlanta area. My advise is to avoid chase at all costs. They gave us a closing date which they have well exceeded. They told us we were locked into a rate only to tell us just before the expected closing date that the rate would change, and I had to buy the difference at $1260.00. We got a truck and loaded... • loan modification on my second

I was just wondering why it takes so long to get an answer for our modification on our second? First of all in the beginning we were not advised that our 2nd would not be modified until our first was complete. it amazes me how everytime I ask about our modification its always "still" in underwriting. I am beginning to believe that the banks do this purposely so that the homeowners default. I am not a believer of bankrupcty but its almost like you push your customers to take that step. If its in underwriting and has been then give us our modification. Thank you More...

  • Chase plays dirty pool

Chase filed for foreclosure against me, I sought help from the govt's mortgage programs, twice being denied, both times because Chase refused to cooperate. The second time they had the audacity to tell the mortgage counselor they would sell the house if I was denied - and then ensured I would be. I also would like to point out that between filing for foreclosure and selling the home, they never once called or emailed me to discuss the matter. Stay far, far away from Chase. The real hell of it is I didn't actually get the mortgage from them - they bought it after I got it. More...

  • Chase at its worse!

I started my modification process with chase in 2008. they finally offered me a "final" modification and now 5 years later they are telling me that I owe them $36,000 because they "forgot" to add in my impound account. I don't think its fair that I have to pay for their mistake all at once. I think they should tag some of these funds onto the pricipal amount. This 36K repesents inflated fees, late fees, attorney fees, processing fees...are you kidding me? they mess this one up!!! I'm looking for an attorney that has beaten chase at their own game! More...

  • Screwed by Chase

I was offered a loan modification and mortgage reduction by Chase 3 years ago. The letter they sent me said they put together this great new program to keep homeowners in their homes. They wanted to fix my rate at 5% and reduce my mortgage to keep my payment the same. I was never late nor did I ever miss a payment. It seemed to good to be true and it was. I am now trying to buy a new home and chase won't lend to me because there is a loan mod on my credit report. Even though my credit is 780, I have 20% down and am very well qualified. So, they came to me offering this mod for whatever... More...

  • Incompetence at it's Best!!!

Chase reported five months of later mortgage payments to the credit bureaus. I contact them in an effort to correct their mistakes and have been going in circles for 5 months. I provided them bank statements showing the payments and they advised this wasn't good enough. I was told they need access to my entire checking account which, if I'm not mistaken, is unwarranted. I'm trying to get a loan modification from Chase (they recently bought my loan from MetLife Home Loans - who "were no longer in the mortgage business" - After 90 days of conversations and correspondence requesting the same documentation over and over and over again - and an inability to read and analyze the information they already have - or they wouldn't keep asking for it - They actually said that the documents were "out of date" - this after it sat on someone's desk for over two months. • missed oppertunity

I had a mortgage from Wellsfargo during the years of higher interest rates. I worked 5 jobs, 4 of which were 24hr shifts in the fire department(144hrs/ week). My credit was 750+. I needed to lighten the work load to spend time with my family (wife and 5 children). Chase had a great sales pitch and my refinance was applied thru them. Closing date on Oct.8th was missed 2 months in to the process. Buy out numbers obtained the Oct. 11th or so. Forms sent to them 4 times prior were again being requested. Advised that mortgage payment was not needed due to the approaching closing. The... More...

  • Home Loan modification

I am a homeowner with Chase holding the note. I am a senior citizen and a realtor and mainly exist on my social security. I paid $650 to chase to apply for a home loan, learning much later from them that they do not charge - and finally I was denied because I do not make enough money. I would not have applied for a modification if I was making enough money to pay my mortgage - this seems to me to be a contradiction - if only those who make enough money can have home modifications then the rich will get richer and the poor will go into foreclosure. • Chase Mortgage Modification

Started Mortgage Modification in August 2011. Downloaded information and sent in all of the papers they requested. As soon as they would receive my documents they would write back saying they hadn't received certain documents and requesting them again. I sent them over and over. They must be among the Fortune 500 groups. Their reputation surpassess mortgage/credit lending in the United States. They get gain revenue in many forms. I was not suprised my loan was transferred to such a large financial lender. I will be honest, the customer service is fair, depending on who answers the line and the state of J P Morgans activities. • Unknowledgeable staff and the runaround!

I have been trying to get a loan modification from Chase for 14 months when my husband moved out of the home, leaving me to pay all of the bills. My income wasn't enough to cover household bills and the mortgage, and I am facing a hardship. I had a very difficult time getting knowledgeable people to assist me, and it took me "forever" to get my file into the underwriting department. I had been working with Chase for over a year on a loan modification only to find out from Chase that I did not make enough money to qualify! Isn't that why I requested a loan mod, because my income has reduced?! WOW! This is just part two of my complaint. I originally went to the Santa Ana (California) office and spoke withe a Zachary Scoggins. It seemed to go well and Mr. Scoggins seemed sympathetic and seemed to want to help. • Escrow bank complaints

I refinanced my home last October. Chase Home Finance bought my loan after settlement. I had paid my Homeowners insurance out of pocket for the year, prior to closing on my loan. Since it wasn't up for renewal until November, Chase saw that it had a renewal date in November and paid for it again. This created a shortage in my escrow account. They sent me a statement with a coupon that clearly stated on the top in bold letters "Escrow Lump Sum Payment". Once in December 2010, Chase took two payments from my bank account. I called them they told me they couldn't put it back in there. Most creditors wait until you are near or over 30 days on a bill before they call you. Everything listed above about Chase is true, we need to get a class action suit going. It is outrageous the things that they do to us homeowners. I've had so many problems with Chase, I could be here all week typing to tell my whole story. I'm with the people who said Chase sucks & Chase can go to hell! We have to do something about it & get
this stopped. It's hard enough being a homeowner without all the additional crap Chase puts people through.

I applied 4 years ago for a home modification to jump thru hoops and send form after form. Always Chase needed another mathmatical subdivision. Them Robert melody was transfered and my DECISION letter never came. ??Legal.

Again I have applied thry Chase ,Mr. Dennis Smith, and after 6 months of Forms being lost, faxes not received and so called underwriters needing the same form updated again and again.

I think the program is a bogus, scam. Makes me want to default.
WHERE ARE YOU MR. President. I thought the OBAMA regulations were to help. CHASE is laughing in your face. Circumventing your plan. PEOPLE/VOTERS are being lost because your plans are being tossed into the trash.

Obviously Chase had other priorities i.e. loosing/gambling 2 Billion dollars.

I would like to know, if people bail on Chase because of the above - what happens next?

Chase HOME LOANS is a PAIN to try to work with. Their customer service reps provide inconsitent information, use multiple databases to look up customer info, and fail to compliment the knowledge of loan officers at banking centers.

My wife and I have never missed a payment, and always paid our property taxes on our own. Last year, Chase decided to pay our prop taxes and began an escrow acct under ouw name...without notifying us. We've been trying to resolve this matter for over 7 months, but every time we call we get different answers. The banking centers have no clue how to assists, so when we went to the bank, they had to call the customer svc center as well.

The process is screwed up, their IT systems don't talk to each other. I hope CHASE goes out of busines, or goes to hell.

Chase Home Finance has to pay for all that it has done to homeowners. Put the CEO and all its officers behind bars and see if they don't get their act together. They tooked the govt bailout money and has been duping homeowners ever since. Two hundred years ago these types would have been hanged in the gallows.

I think the government should step in and investigate these crooks. They received money to modify the loans and they are not doing so. When is the frickin governement going to investigate this ? When we all loose our homes to Chase ?

walkaway says: (8 years ago)
If everyone will just stop paying then the banks will be forced to begin to address the complaints. Anyone with inside knowledge will tell you they have no motivation to abide by the Obama plan. There will have to be a wave of owners who can pay to just stop paying as this will cost the bank millions to their bottom line. Prices are down 70% in many areas and will take at least 14 years to recover to the pre-bubble stage. This will only happen in the area where there are jobs or where there will be population growth. Think Los Angeles.

I hate Chase!!!Like all of you, I faxed and overnight mailed the required documents to the Modification dept. I've been doing this since March 25, 2009. I keep getting requests for documents I've already sent at least twice. Meanwhile, the left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing or doesn't care because the Collections dept. CONSTANTLY harasses us. Morning, noon, night, 6 days a week - home, office, wherever. They're rude and nasty. In fact, the Arizona office (a jerk named Mark Fineout) even questioned my judgment and told me that my trial period plan that CHASE offered me didn't make sense to him and why on Earth would I agree to it! They call me 4-5 times a week even though I'm making my payments according to the "trial period plan" they put me on. Collections tells me that I didn't send in my Sept. modified payment on 9/1 as per the plan but I told them I didn't even know what the plan was because they didn't offer it to me until Sept. 4 so how could I be noncompliant with something I didn't even know about! It's tragic and fraudulent. It's depressing and there are days I just want to take to my bed and pull the covers over my head but my family needs me and I know that God will see me through. Even though Chase wants to break your spirits but DO NOT LET THEM BREAK YOU! We are all hardworking people that are doing the best that we can. Deal with the Special Lending Unit and tell Collections that you're working with the Modification Unit and that once they put you on a trial plan, you will mail in your payments. Believe me even if you call to make your payments THEY WILL STILL HARASS YOU so take back control and send your payment by snail mail. If you really prefer to phone in your payment, call them the day before to pay it by phone (fee should be waived.) You have to call the day before so that it will post by say the 15th because if you call on the 15th, they will post it on the 16th and add on another late fee! NEVER let them set you up on FastPay because they will automatically debit your account 1 day before the due date even though you tell them that the money won't be there until the due date. Best of luck all. I will keep all of us in my prayers, including Pres. Obama who tried to do an honorable thing only to have it degraded by Chase.

After 7 months of faxing documents after documents I was told I ddint qualify because fo insufficient income. Only found this out becasue i called and not because Chase notified me. I just dont understand I thought loan modification was to help those who could not pay for the loan... HELLO.........IF I MADE MORE MONEY I COULD PAY THE MORTGAGE!!!!!
